transcendent, arresting and vast. over the course of a decade of seasons, tria giovan, a new york based photographer, set upon a journey to chart the daily permutations of tides and the innumerable shifts of light and atmosphere within a three-mile stretch of beach on the eastern end of long island. the resulting sixty-three color infused images featured in sand sea sky: the beaches of sagaponack, form a rich visual record of introspective exploration. the viewer is gracefully transported to a pristine but vulnerable landscape where the expansive horizon, endless ocean and luminous east end light are captured in pure and exultant glory. through these images, giovan illustrates the mesmerizing and meditative powers of the beaches of sagaponack.
