New item doesn't look so new
Purchased Ellipse silverplate serving fork. Order process went smoothly. Fork's box was definitely not new condition: many scuffs and slightly smashed. The fork itself was pretty tarnished but otherwise OK. Would have been mortified to give an item in this condition as a gift.
